Take a Look at Yourself.

There are times in our lives, usually times of great change or maybe even despair, when our minds try to unravel the meaning of our very existence. Whether these moments occur only for a few minutes or even a few years, I believe they are a necessary element of human sanity. Without taking time to evaluate our intentions, actions and thoughts, it is impossible to understand why we are who we are, and whether we are truly happy with that person. Without a doubt, what we all want to derive from life is happiness. So maybe the next time your life comes to an abrupt halt and causes a mile long tailback of destruction, just take a step back and evaluate where you are, who you have become and why. Allow yourself to emerge from the bubble you have come to know as your everyday and take a look at the big picture. The greatest thing you can do in life is to question everything. Yes, even yourself.

“Don’t just teach your children to read…
Teach them to question what they read.
Teach them to question everything.”

– George Carlin

Change is in your reach. Anything is possible if you really want to achieve it. Don’t hold yourself back or let anyone else hold you back. Be who YOU want to be.

Who? What? Where? Why?

At the age of twenty, I’ve been extremely fortunate to have already had the chance to see much of the world. My first memories of travelling out of the United Kingdom consist of scenes in Spain, perched in an inflatable dinghy alongside my twin sister at the age of just two years. Of course, these memories more than likely only exist in my mind thanks to all the cringeworthy home videos labelled ‘Kids, Minorca (1994)’. In all seriousness though, my parents are the reason I have so much desire to explore the world. Even from a young age, they have encouraged my sisters and I to see as many corners of the Earth as possible and have given us so many opportunities to do so. From Las Vegas to Brussels, Vancouver to St Lucia, we truly are very lucky.

So, why the blog? Firstly, I adore writing. I find it hard to sleep at night (my brain annoyingly becomes most active just as I try to sleep) because I have so much I want to scribble down. To be completely honest, I’ve always ben too afraid to start publishing my thoughts, openly for the whole world to see. So here it is. Secondly, I’m at an age now where I feel a little lost and I am trying my best to discover who I am and what I should do with my life. I have never really known what I’ve wanted to become in terms of a career and the time is nearly here when I have to decide. The next year of my life will be an important one – the final leap forward into the real world. The crazy, exciting, overwhelming, distressing, bountiful, confusing and beautiful world in which we live. So, I have decided that for me to make such huge, life-shaping decisions, the only way to do this is to travel, explore and discover who I am and what I want to do. I currently have a few travel plans scrawled across three crumpled pieces of A4 and once I am financially able to put the doodles into action, I’ll be on my way :)

Its probably a good idea to note that I’m a completely new to the blogging scene. My twin is a little more engaged in this kind of thing and she’d promised to help me along the way. Also, I’d love to get as much feedback as possible and if you have any travel tips or suggestions then PLEASE don’t hesitate to leave a comment/message.
